Both were copied and pasted into Notepad for comparison. VCDS generates a text file which is created and stored on the laptop. I sent the OBDelven scan to myself via my email account. OBDeleven on the left, VCDS on the right. Maybe this is part of the re-learning process but I don't really recall the car acting like this when new. VCDS Auto Scan Reports - So here's what the auto scans look like when you compare them head-to-head. It seems more sluggish, especially when moving from reverse to drive and vice versa, and just not as responsive overall at lower throttle. Which of these two is more capable What are some pros and cons of each I watched a review of the VCDS and like.
Vcds vs obdeleven android#
I haven't noticed anything "better" about my DSG, in fact, I think it is actually acting odd/worse after using the App. Forum: VCDS-VagCom / Carista / OBDeleven Too Many OBDii Faults For My Liking Hello All After having problems with a split charge relay not working on my 2014 T5 I Have bought a shiny new Autel MaxiAP AP200 (couldn’t stretch to VCDS/VAG) but I’m a little concerned about the amount of faults I have discovered, list at bottom of this post. Q5/SQ5 MKI (8R) Discussion - Default VCDS vs OBDEleven - So I have decided to purchase either a VCDS HEX-V2 (199) which is the cheapest offering from Ross-Tech or the OBDEleven (80 + 50 android tablet). Look down the list of Carista settings and if you need anything not on there, consider OBDEleven instead. AFAIK Carista only allows a specific set of known changes. It went through its clunks and whatnot while I had the brake depressed and e-brake on. OBDEleven allows you to do arbitrary coding changes. This was bothersome, but I didn't see what other choice I had other than use the app. I find this strange considering the platform is almost 13 years old.

As previously mentioned, there's tons of coding options on other platforms but it seems there's little to none for the R8. The next-generation device (black) can work with Android and iOS. I was really hoping to find a few keen VCDS/OBDeleven wizards in this thread. It is mainly used for diagnostics and adjustments of Volkswagen Group motor vehicles, including Volkswagen Passenger Cars, Audi, Bentley (limited), SEAT, and Skoda cars, amongst Volkswagen Commercial Vehicles.
Vcds vs obdeleven manual#
I performed a DSG fluid change two weekends ago then broke down and used the OBDEleven app a couple days later after looking around for the full manual process via OBDEleven, and finding much info saying you can't do it the same as you can with VCDS. What is the difference between devices The first generation device (white) can work only with Android and can support Audi, Volkswagen, Seat, koda, Lamborghini, and Bentley. VCDS (VAG-COM Diagnostic System) is a Microsoft Windows-based software package, developed and produced by Ross-Tech, LLC since May 2000. One final point, and it is a while since I checked up on this, are you sure that it is not only the "reprograming features/functions" that get VIN limited - ie you can use it "unlimited" to read/clear fault codes and to view live data? I'm guessing here that normal servicing/repair adaptions are excluded from VIN limitations.Since this thread exists, I'll bump it instead of creating a new post to hopefully get some more discussion on the topic.
Vcds vs obdeleven update#
I have come from VAG-COM to VCDS when my cars changed and do worry about this change - which it seems many of these licenses are nowadays, I'd hope that RossTech do evolve a slightly better system for "home users" - ie a "VIN refresh" update as time goes on as I'm sure that it was never their intention to screw "home users" - but to increase their price for "trade users" who earn their living from tools like this. If your needs are very basic check out Carista as another cheap option. VCDS has gotten more expensive and restrictive (re number of vins) that for most users it's not the best bang for your buck. Hum, not a good situation to be in, maybe change one car back to SAAB as they seem to run and run and run, maybe the 9-5 petrol ones need a new fuel pump between 120K and 150K, but other than that - well maybe the odd DI cassette and/or crankshaft position sensor? That would give you a bit more time with a 3 VIN VCDS? If you're just doing basic changes OBD11 is a lot better value.
